Education Through Sports-Edu-Sports and PLAY
The main aim of Edu-sports is to provide a sustainable intervention that
will focuses on building the foundation of sports for all interested
adolescents (15-19 year olds) while passing life skills knowledge in an easy,
fun and engaging manner.
Project background challenge the project aims to
address.
Pwani Youth Network [PYN] is a Youth Network
that work with more than 20 Youths clubs across 15 Field in Mombasa, Kilifi and
Kwale and our model is working with Adolescent and Youths who have either been
affected with drugs or HIV and those who are living informal settlement [Slum]
and Rural areas.
This project would mainly address the issue of
High Teenage Pregnancy among the
adolescent in Jomvu and Changamwe sub counties that is caused due to unprotected sex,lack of information on
SRH,High high incidences of rape and lastly Early and Forces marriages among
the adolescent leading to new HIV cases among the adolescent aged 13-19 .This
project would engage Both male and female as Equal partners in the fight
against Teenage Pregnancy .This project will also look at enhancing Youth
Involvement in Income generating project by starting one Recycling plant for
plastic to make football equipment’s like Cons etc

adolescent and youth are mobilized,
engaged, capacitated with Life skills information through sporting activity
then they can , mentored to be great
change makers in the community they come
from and this will led to a reduction of Teenage pregnancy and drugs
leading to better health outcome in Mombasa

Framework,-Overview of the process and measuring impact for this project
At the start of the project, a Monitoring and
Evaluation plan as well as Activity Implementation Plan will be developed, discussed
and agreed on with the Edu sports team and the Enda Project. The project will
use various methods and tools in data collection. The methods and tools
includes; minutes of meetings, event and workshop registers form, payment form
and reports as well as activity reports. The project will prepare project
progress reports on a monthly basis. A more comprehensive report will be
prepared each quarter. These reports will be shared with Enda Team. At the end
of the project period, a detailed end-term project report will be prepared. The
report will be shared with Enda Project team for validation. The validated
report will be shared by the county government, donors and other stakeholders.
We shall work closely with the Department of health
and the Field Coach to monitor the progress of the behavior of the Adolescent
to monitor the targeted youths.
We shall have feedback/Feedback forms meeting, Activities
and Trainings throughout the project implementation for the project staff and
also have feedback mechanism for beneficiary.
